Sarah R. Edwards, Ph.D., LP
About
I specialize in trauma-informed care and work extensively with adults navigating complex trauma and CPTSD. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves or others, stuck in patterns of perfectionism or anxiety, or carrying a persistent sense of not being “good enough.” Trauma can also show up through dissociation, depression, relationship difficulties, challenges with sexuality or intimacy, and difficulty feeling safe, present, or connected.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and individualized. Rather than relying on a single method, I draw from several trauma-focused and experiential modalities, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing, and EMDR. Together, we can explore both the emotional and body-based impacts of trauma while building greater understanding, self-compassion, and a sense of internal safety.
I work especially well with people who have spent a long time coping, achieving, caretaking, or simply getting through the day, but are ready for something to feel different. Therapy with me is a space to better understand the patterns that helped you survive, gently work through what is keeping you stuck, and develop more choice in how you relate to yourself, your emotions, your body, and the people you care about. I am a PsychPact registered provider and can see people in ND, MN and 43 other states via secure telehealth connection.
