Terms of Service

Effective 12 August 2026. This is how we operate. If anything here changes materially, account holders are emailed and the new date is posted at the top.

1. What MyTherapyMatch is — and is not

MyTherapyMatch, operated by Beachhead Enterprises, LLC ("we," "us"), provides (a) an online directory and information service that helps prospective clients find independent licensed therapists based on criteria the client provides, and (b) a secure practice platform ("the Office") that therapists use to conduct their own online therapy sessions.

We are not a healthcare provider, and we are not a referral service. We do not provide therapy, medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. We do not recommend or endorse any specific therapist. Every therapist listed on MyTherapyMatch is an independent professional responsible for their own practice; no employment, agency, or partnership relationship exists between MyTherapyMatch and any therapist. No therapist-client relationship is created with MyTherapyMatch by use of the service — your treatment relationship is with the therapist you choose.

2. How search and matching work

Search and match results are generated solely from the information and preferences you enter and from information therapists provide in their verified profiles. Results are not influenced by fees therapists pay us: all therapists pay the same flat subscription fee, which does not vary based on the number of clients who find them here, and placement or ordering in results is never sold. Each result shows why it matched your criteria. You are solely responsible for evaluating and selecting a therapist.

3. Emergencies

MyTherapyMatch is not for emergencies. If you or someone else is in danger or crisis, call 911 (or your local emergency number) or call/text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) immediately. Do not rely on the directory, the platform, or messaging features in an emergency.

4. Therapist accounts and verification

Therapist accounts are available only to professionals holding an active, unrestricted license (or equivalent legal authorization) to provide psychotherapy. By creating an account you represent that your license information is accurate and authorize us to verify it — including your identity, license status against state licensing-board records (re-checked periodically), and malpractice insurance from your certificate of insurance. We may suspend a listing's verification badges or the listing itself if verification fails or lapses. You remain solely responsible for your compliance with licensing law (including practicing only where the client's location permits), HIPAA obligations to your own clients, professional ethics, and clinical care.

Because sessions are delivered by telehealth, you are also responsible for meeting the telehealth requirements that apply to your license and to each client's location — including determining that telehealth is clinically appropriate for the client, obtaining and documenting any legally required informed consent to telehealth before treatment, verifying the client's identity and physical location at the time of service, and maintaining a plan for local emergencies. MyTherapyMatch provides consent and intake tools for your convenience, but the content and sufficiency of the consent you use, and your compliance with these telehealth rules, are yours.

5. Fees

Therapist subscriptions are flat, recurring fees stated at signup, cancellable anytime, effective at the end of the billing period. Directory-only listings are free of charge; paid subscriptions apply only to the optional practice tools. We never charge therapists per-client fees or referral fees, and we never charge for placement. Fees for optional services (including Denyless claim submission and denied-claim recovery) are disclosed at enrollment and apply only to those services. We may promote the directory, including through paid advertising, at our own expense and in our discretion; however, we do not promise or guarantee any volume of clients, referrals, or inquiries, and a listing carries no assurance of results. Session fees are set by, and paid to, the therapist directly; we are not a party to that transaction. Prospective clients use the directory and matching at no charge.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: misrepresent your identity, credentials, or license status; use the service to harass, harm, or defraud anyone; attempt to access another person's account or data; interfere with the security or operation of the service; scrape or bulk-harvest directory data; or use the platform for any unlawful purpose. Session links are for the invited client only and may not be shared.

7. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and — more importantly — what we architecturally cannot see (session video, audio, and in-call chat travel peer-to-peer, encrypted, and never pass through our servers in readable form). We never sell data, and we never use client or health information for advertising. (We do advertise to recruit therapists, so our marketing and therapist-signup pages carry analytics and a Meta pixel — never the directory, a therapist profile, or the app. The Privacy Policy explains it, and lets you switch it off.) For clients, your therapist is the HIPAA covered entity for your treatment records; we act as their business associate.

8. Intellectual property

The service, its design, and its content (excluding therapist-provided profile content and clinical records, which remain the therapist's) are owned by Beachhead Enterprises, LLC (d/b/a MyTherapyMatch) and protected by law. Therapists grant us a limited license to display their profile content in the directory for as long as they subscribe.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We verify licenses and insurance as described, but we do not guarantee any therapist's quality of care, availability, or fitness for your needs, and we make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyTherapyMatch's total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim; we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. [Counsel: review against CA consumer-protection limits.]

10. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, fail verification, or create risk to users, with notice where practicable. Upon a therapist's termination, we return or destroy business-associate data as provided in the Business Associate Agreement.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. [Counsel: venue, arbitration, and class-waiver decisions pending.]

12. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be notified to account holders by email and posted here with a new effective date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
